ABOUT US

ABOUT US

Icebreakers Lit is collaborative through and through. The four of us joined forces spontaneously for a collaborative submission call and let loose something pretty unreal. It was so much fun, and the collaboration was so natural, that there was never a question: we had to keep the party going. Icebreakers Lit was born.

Collaboration is the heart of Icebreakers Lit. We want to bring writers together. We want connection! All of our calls for submissions – whether chaotic pop-up windows or longer, pre-announced projects – will involve two or more writers creating something together. We are a playground for writers.

Also, we know that playgrounds can be intimidating. We know you may not be coming to the playground with collaborators already in mind, and that's part of where Icebreakers works our magic. We're here to help make those connections. Every call for submissions will include (totally voluntary) opportunities to be matched up with one or more writers.

We’re laid back. We’ll provide guidelines when necessary – especially when it comes to keeping this playground safe and welcoming – but our modus operandi is chaos (think chaotic good, or don't think too much at all, that's kind of the point).

Still not sure what the Icebreakers vibe is? Think: furbies, Easy-Bake ovens, animatronic dragons, pen pals, the Moon...
